Peer Review Process
The Journal of Neuroscience and Neurological Disorders (JNND) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure scientific accuracy, fairness, and transparency. This process upholds the highest standards of integrity in scholarly publishing.
Stages of Peer Review
- Initial Editorial Screening – Manuscripts are checked for compliance with author guidelines, formatting, plagiarism, and ethical declarations.
- Assignment to Handling Editor – The Editor-in-Chief assigns a subject expert to manage the peer review.
- Reviewer Selection – Two or more independent reviewers are invited based on subject expertise, absence of conflicts of interest, and availability.
- Double-Blind Review – Reviewers do not know the authors’ identities, and authors do not know the reviewers’ identities.
- Reviewer Reports – Detailed evaluations are submitted covering originality, methodology, results, interpretation, and ethical compliance.
- Editorial Decision – Based on reviewer recommendations, decisions may be: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
- Revisions – Authors submit revised manuscripts with point-by-point responses to reviewer comments.
- Final Decision – The handling editor or Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision after revision checks.
- Proofreading & Publication – Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading before publication.
