The Journal of Neuroscience and Neurological Disorders (JNND) has established a transparent Refund Policy to ensure fairness and accountability in handling Article Processing Charges (APCs) and related fees. Authors are advised to read this policy carefully before making payments.
General Principles
- APCs support the peer review process, editorial management, and long-term preservation of published articles.
- Refunds are considered only under specific and legitimate circumstances.
- Authors are responsible for understanding this policy before payment.
Refund Scenarios
1. Duplicate Payment
If an author accidentally makes a duplicate payment, a full refund will be issued upon verification.
2. Withdrawal Before Review
Authors who withdraw manuscripts before the peer review process begins are eligible for a partial refund, minus administrative charges.
3. Withdrawal During Review
Manuscripts withdrawn during peer review are not eligible for full refund. A partial refund may be considered at the discretion of the editorial office, accounting for reviewer and administrative costs.
4. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal after acceptance is strongly discouraged. In such cases, APCs are non-refundable, as significant resources have already been invested in the editorial and production process.
5. Article Rejection
If a manuscript is rejected by the editorial board before acceptance, no APC is charged. If payment was made in advance, it will be refunded in full.
6. Post-Publication Retractions
APCs are non-refundable if an article is retracted due to author misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, falsified data).
Refunds are processed within 30 business days of approval and returned via the original mode of payment.
Non-Refundable Cases
- Author fails to comply with ethical guidelines, leading to rejection or retraction.
- Delays caused by author in revisions or communication.
- Technical issues arising from author-side internet, system, or banking errors.
